Ingredients

Sausage Ball Mix
  • 1 pound ground breakfast sausage
  • 2 cups dry stuffing mix
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup water or chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley
  • salt and pepper to taste

Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Pour the dry stuffing mix into a large bowl. Add the water or broth and let it sit for a few minutes until the pieces soften slightly.
  3. Add the ground sausage to the bowl. Mix with your hands until the stuffing blends evenly into the sausage.
  4. Add the cheddar cheese, egg, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until everything is combined but not overworked.
  5. Shape the mixture into small balls about the size of a tablespoon scoop. Place them on the baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes, or until the sausage balls are golden and cooked through.
  7. Let them cool for a few minutes before serving so they can firm up.

Notes

  • If the mixture is too dry, add broth a tablespoon at a time.
  • If too wet, add more stuffing mix.
  • You can make these ahead and freeze before baking.
