Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar packed
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger grated
  • 2 cups cooked rice white or brown
  • 2 green onions sliced, for garnish

Equipment

  • Skillet

Method

  1. Cook the rice according to package instructions so it's ready when the beef is done.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the ground beef.
  3. Break apart the beef as it cooks until browned. Drain any excess grease if needed.
  4. Add garlic and ginger to the skillet and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Stir in soy sauce and brown sugar. Let it simmer for 3–5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and coats the beef.
  6. Spoon the beef over bowls of warm rice.
  7. Top with sliced green onions and serve hot.

Notes

For a healthy twist, use brown or cauliflower rice. Add steamed vegetables like broccoli or carrots to make it a balanced meal. You can also use ground turkey instead of beef if preferred.
