Ingredients

Ribs
  • 1 rack pork ribs baby back or side ribs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce plus more for serving

Equipment

  • Instant Pot
  • Baking Sheet

Method

  1. Pat the ribs dry with paper towels and remove the thin membrane from the back if needed.
  2. Season both sides of the ribs with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Pour water and apple cider vinegar into the Instant Pot and place the metal rack inside.
  4. Cut the rack of ribs into two or three pieces and stand them on the rack in a loose circle.
  5. Close the lid and cook on high pressure for 25 minutes. Let the pressure release naturally for 5 minutes, then release the remaining pressure.
  6. Preheat the oven broiler and brush the ribs generously with barbecue sauce.
  7. Place ribs on a lined baking sheet and broil for 3 to 5 minutes until the sauce becomes sticky and slightly caramelized.
  8. Slice between the bones and serve warm with extra barbecue sauce if desired.

Notes

You can use baby back ribs or side ribs for this recipe. For extra flavor, try a honey barbecue sauce or a smoky chipotle sauce. The broiling step helps create that classic grilled rib finish.
