  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger grated
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes or to taste
Garnish
  • 3 green onions sliced
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

Equipment

  • Large Pot
  • Large Skillet
  • Mixing Bowl

Method

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the noodles according to package directions.
  2. While the noodles cook, mince the garlic, grate the fresh ginger, and slice the green onions.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes to make the sauce.
  4. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the Italian sausage. Cook, breaking it into small crumbles, until browned and fully cooked.
  5. Add the garlic and ginger to the skillet and cook for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
  6. Pour the sesame sauce into the skillet and stir gently to coat the sausage.
  7. Add the drained noodles to the skillet and toss until every strand is coated in the sauce.
  8. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Taste and adjust with more soy sauce if needed, then serve warm.

Notes

Use pre-minced garlic and ginger to save time, or swap in pre-cooked sausage for an even faster version. You can also add shredded carrots, snap peas, or cabbage for extra texture and color.
