- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a casserole dish.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground meat until browned and cooked through.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until soft and fragrant.
- Stir in the beans, diced tomatoes, and chili seasoning. Simmer for 10–12 minutes.
- Spread the chili mixture evenly in the prepared casserole dish.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top, then layer with frozen tater tots.
- Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden and crisp.
