- Place a large skillet over medium heat and cook the ground beef until browned and fully cooked, breaking it into small pieces.
- Drain excess grease, leaving a small amount for flavor. Add butter and let it melt into the beef.
- Sprinkle flour over the beef and stir well. Cook for about 1 minute to remove the raw flour taste.
- Slowly pour in the milk while stirring continuously, then add the beef broth. Stir until smooth.
- Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Let simmer until thick and creamy.
- Spoon mashed potatoes onto plates and top with the warm hamburger gravy. Serve immediately.
Notes
For extra flavor, add Worcestershire sauce or sautéed onions and mushrooms. Adjust thickness by adding more milk or simmering longer.
