Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef lean preferred
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 bell pepper chopped (any color)
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 hoagie rolls split and toasted if desired
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • salt and pepper to taste

Equipment

  • Skillet

Method

  1. Warm a large skillet over medium heat and add ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it into crumbles with a spoon.
  2. Drain any excess fat, then stir in chopped onions and bell peppers. Cook until soft and slightly caramelized, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  3. Add Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir and cook for another 2 minutes.
  4. Lay provolone cheese slices over the beef mixture and let them melt slowly.
  5. Split your hoagie rolls and toast lightly if desired, then fill each with the cheesy beef mixture.
  6. Serve warm and enjoy that classic cheesesteak flavor in minutes.

Notes

Try mozzarella or white American cheese if you can't find provolone. Add mushrooms or jalapeƱos for variation. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze the filling for up to 1 month.
