- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic. Stir and cook for about 3 minutes until softened and fragrant.
- Pour in the crushed tomatoes and beef broth. Stir in Italian seasoning and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Add the orzo and stir well to combine. Ensure the pasta is fully coated in the tomato mixture.
- Cover and let it simmer for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the orzo is al dente and most of the liquid is absorbed.
- Remove from heat, sprinkle with Parmesan, and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
To customize this dish, consider swapping beef for turkey or chicken, adding spinach or peas, or stirring in a spoonful of ricotta at the end. Add red pepper flakes for spice, or top with avocado dip for a creamy twist.
