  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
Honey Garlic Orange Sauce
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 tsp orange zest freshly grated
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Equipment

  • Oven-safe skillet
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk

Method

  1. Pat the chicken dry and season evenly with salt and black pepper.

  4. Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Place chicken skin-side down and sear for 5–6 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Flip the chicken and pour the honey garlic orange sauce over the top.
  6. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 25–30 minutes until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  7. Spoon the thickened sauce from the pan over the chicken before serving and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  8. Serve warm with vegetables or rice.

Notes

You can make the sauce ahead and store it in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Add red pepper flakes for a gentle kick or substitute honey with maple syrup for deeper sweetness.
