- Pat the chicken dry and season evenly with salt and black pepper.
- In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, orange juice, orange zest, minced garlic, and olive oil until smooth.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Place chicken skin-side down and sear for 5–6 minutes until golden brown.
- Flip the chicken and pour the honey garlic orange sauce over the top.
- Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 25–30 minutes until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Spoon the thickened sauce from the pan over the chicken before serving and let it rest for 5 minutes.
- Serve warm with vegetables or rice.
Notes
You can make the sauce ahead and store it in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Add red pepper flakes for a gentle kick or substitute honey with maple syrup for deeper sweetness.
