Method
- Slice the beef thinly against the grain for maximum tenderness.
- Toss the sliced beef with cornstarch until evenly coated.
- Heat oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
- Cook the beef in a single layer for 2–3 minutes per side until browned. Work in batches if needed.
- Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, sauté garlic and ginger for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add soy sauce and brown sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves and the sauce begins to bubble.
- Return the beef to the pan and toss to coat in the sauce.
- Simmer for a few minutes until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy.
- Garnish with green onions and serve warm.
Notes
Cook the beef in batches for extra crispiness. You can add vegetables like broccoli or snap peas for a more complete meal. Adjust sugar levels to control sweetness.
