Ingredients

Chicken
  • 4 chicken breasts boneless and skinless
  • 4 slices ham
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
Seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste

Equipment

  • Grill
  • Toothpicks

Method

  1. Place each chicken breast on a cutting board and carefully slice a pocket into the side without cutting all the way through.
  2. Stuff each chicken breast with one slice of ham and one slice of Swiss cheese. Secure with toothpicks.
  3. Brush the outside of the chicken with olive oil and season with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Preheat the grill to medium heat and lightly oil the grates.
  5. Grill the chicken for 6 to 7 minutes per side until golden outside and fully cooked inside.
  6. Remove toothpicks, let rest for a few minutes, then slice and serve warm.

Notes

Avoid cutting too deep into the chicken to prevent cheese from leaking. Do not overstuff, and keep grill heat moderate to avoid drying out the chicken. You can swap Swiss cheese for mozzarella or use turkey instead of ham for variation.
