Ingredients
  

Sandwich Base
  • 10 slices white or wheat bread soft, easy to cut
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese or hummus for spreading
Decorations
  • 1 cup spinach or basil leaves fresh
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes chopped small
  • 1/2 cup bell peppers red and yellow, chopped
  • 5 slices cheddar cheese cut into stars
  • 10 pretzel sticks for trunks

Method
 

  1. Use a tree-shaped cookie cutter to cut the bread slices into tree shapes. Toast lightly if desired.
  2. Spread cream cheese or hummus evenly on each tree-shaped slice.
  3. Layer spinach or basil leaves over the spread to create a green tree effect.
  4. Decorate with small pieces of cherry tomatoes and bell peppers to mimic ornaments.
  5. Add a cheddar cheese star on top and insert a pretzel stick at the bottom for the trunk. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • To make these ahead of time, prepare and refrigerate them in an airtight container for up to 8 hours.
  • Add pretzel trunks and cheese stars just before serving for best texture.
