  • 1 bag frozen meatballs beef or turkey
  • 2 cups dry short pasta like penne or rotini
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup water or low sodium broth
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • salt and black pepper to taste
  • fresh parsley for topping, optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a large baking dish.
  2. Add the dry pasta to the baking dish and spread evenly.
  3. Pour the marinara sauce and water over the pasta. Stir gently to coat.
  4. Place the frozen meatballs on top. Sprinkle Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. Cover tightly with foil and bake for 35 minutes.
  6. Remove foil and stir gently. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the top.
  7. Bake uncovered for 10–15 minutes until cheese is melted and golden.
  8. Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with parsley if desired and serve warm.

Notes

Use a deep baking dish to avoid overflow. Add a bit more water if your marinara sauce is very thick. This recipe is budget-friendly, easy to double, and perfect for potlucks or make-ahead meals.
