- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Wash and trim the green beans. Pat them dry well with a towel so they roast instead of steam.
- Place the green beans in a large mixing bowl. Add olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.
- Toss everything together until the beans are evenly coated with the oil and seasoning.
- Spread the green beans across the baking sheet in a single layer to allow even roasting.
- Roast for 12 to 15 minutes until the beans are tender and lightly crisped on the edges.
- Remove the pan from the oven and sprinkle grated parmesan cheese over the beans.
- Return to the oven for about 2 minutes until the cheese melts slightly. Serve warm.
Notes
For extra crisp green beans, make sure the pan is not crowded. A squeeze of lemon juice or a pinch of red pepper flakes can add extra brightness and heat. Pecorino cheese can be used instead of parmesan for a stronger flavor.
