Method
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
- Slice sausage into rounds or crumble if using ground sausage.
- Cut peppers and onion into strips of similar size.
- In a large bowl, toss sausage, peppers, onion, olive oil, garlic, and Italian seasoning.
- Spread the mixture evenly in the baking dish.
- Spoon crushed tomatoes over the top without mixing too much.
- Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes until sausage is browned and edges are crisp.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top and bake for another 5–8 minutes until melted and bubbly.
- Let rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
You can add vegetables like zucchini or mushrooms for variation. Leftovers can be used in wraps or served over rice the next day.
