  • 400 g beef strips thinly sliced
  • 200 g mushrooms sliced
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 250 g egg noodles
  • 2 tbsp butter or oil

Method
 

  1. Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat butter or oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  3. Add the beef strips and cook until browned, about 3–4 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, cook the onion until soft. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  5. Add mushrooms and cook until golden and softened.
  6. Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir well.
  7. Slowly add beef broth while stirring. Let simmer until the sauce thickens.
  8. Return beef to the pan and mix gently.
  9. Lower heat and stir in sour cream. Do not boil.
  10. Serve over egg noodles and enjoy.

Notes

For a lighter version, use lean beef and substitute sour cream with Greek yogurt. Keep heat low after adding dairy to prevent curdling.
