Method
- Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Heat butter or oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add the beef strips and cook until browned, about 3–4 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, cook the onion until soft. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Add mushrooms and cook until golden and softened.
- Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir well.
- Slowly add beef broth while stirring. Let simmer until the sauce thickens.
- Return beef to the pan and mix gently.
- Lower heat and stir in sour cream. Do not boil.
- Serve over egg noodles and enjoy.
Notes
For a lighter version, use lean beef and substitute sour cream with Greek yogurt. Keep heat low after adding dairy to prevent curdling.
