Method
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a baking dish.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until the beef is browned and no pink remains. Drain excess grease.
- Stir in ketchup, mustard, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes until combined. Remove from heat.
- Cut each biscuit into four pieces and flatten slightly in your hand.
- Spoon a small amount of beef mixture onto each piece, sprinkle with cheese, and wrap the dough around the filling to seal.
- Arrange the stuffed pieces in the prepared baking dish close together. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Add diced pickles or cooked bacon bits for extra flavor. You can prepare the beef mixture a day ahead and refrigerate until ready to assemble. For best texture, bake with fresh biscuit dough rather than freezing the assembled dish.
